When Calder Conferences decided to move to a larger, more
corporate head office they needed help and advice on the
best way to utilise their new found space. Furniture
Exchange was asked to consult on and supply a range of
products that best suited Calder’s requirements & budget.
As a totally independent supplier, not tied to any one
manufacturer, we have the freedom to find the best solution
for the client from a wide range of styles and price points.
We also took the existing furniture away from site, disposing
of some, but giving a credit to Calder for anything that
could be sold through our network of retail warehouses.
After testing a variety of different products suggested by
Furniture Exchange, Calder’s James Turner decided on the
versatile & robust FT2 range from Claremont. Pilot
workstations were organised and set up on site for James
and his team at Calder to trial in the surroundings they
would eventually enhance.
Standard wave desks with 3 drawer, desk high pedestals
were used for the call centre floors. In order to maintain the
modern look throughout the building we specified radial
desks in a Maple MFC finish with matching desk high drawer
pedestals, but added silver steel modesty panels, CPU
holders, flat screen monitor arms & desk mounted accessory
beams to the Managers’ workstations to make a more
distinctive looking workstation to reinforce their positions.
A few weeks after the initial fit-out of
the Calder office we were asked to
look at ways of increasing desk top
space as well as the personal files
storage, without impacting on the
additional open office space. We
arranged for Calder to trial some 3/4
circle meeting, or “conference”,
desk-end extensions, which fitted the
bill. We also provided a number of
mobile, under desk, 2 drawer filing
pedestals, which we were able the
match to the FF2 silver steel legs.
